This week’s Behind The Tees is special. Why is it special, you ask? It’s special because the four designs below are the finalists from our $10,000 Parody design challenge! These designs were just way too good, and we’re going to need some help deciding which designer will be our $10,000 grand prize winner. On May 12th, the design with the most sales will be crowned our $10K winner. Take a peek at the designs below and start thinking about which one you’ll be picking up next week!
“When the Predator decided to duke it out with Dutch and take off his mask, revealing the grotesque alien face underneath, not only was it the penultimate moment in that movie, but one of the classic moments in action sci-fi movie history. With that face in mind, and since I’m never one to miss a chance for a play on words, the idea for a “Sexual Predator” was born. Favoring the humorous side of the idea, I thought: ‘What is more sexy than a vintage Pinup?’”
“For themed contests, there’s usually a process I follow to get to an idea. First, a rough brainstorm: I open my mind and start writing everything that I instantly think regarding the subject. Second, I shape the brainstorm: among many useless and horrible ideas, there are usually some I think are okay. Third: I gather the ideas and combine them, searching for a similarity in the ideas I selected, finding a common place, and trying to unite these concepts into one. Fourth: BANG!”
“Our guideline was ‘It ain’t easy for nobody’. When the age comes and your strength is not quite there anymore, it’s time to try something different. Breaking cars no more!”
“A month ago, when the actor Harold Ramis from Ghostbusters died, a lot of people posted about both him and Ghostbusters. When I saw the Ghostbusters logo, I suddenly thought to myself ‘That ghost in the red circle will not be getting out of there!’ And that’s how the idea began!”
