5 Décor Essentials to Bring the Outdoors Indoors

Ahhh yes, the great outdoors. The greatness. The outdoorsiness. The fresh air. It’s all very beautiful…and also kiiind of a hassle.

If you love the idea of the great outdoors but A: are more of a glamper than a camper, or B: can’t really go hiking anywhere easily, then the best solution is to bring the outdoors indoors to you.

Here are five ways you can outdoorsify your indoor space!

You know what’s free? Branches. You know what’s not free? Spending $30 for a branch wall hanging that you can totally make for next to nothing.

Branchy wall hangings can be put a fun, outdoorsy spin on hanging your jewelry. Or you can tie some lace and ribbons to it and create an awesome wall hanging that you can look at and proudly go, “I made that stick” rather than shamefully go, “I spent $60 on that stick…”

Check out these DIY tutorials for making them yourself:

A tapestry (super essential)

There’s something about tapestries that immediately transforms a room from feeling like a plain ol’ room, to feeling like a chic tent you’re using for glamping in the woods or Coachella.

‘Course, it always helps when that tapestry has a rad outdoorsy design.

I mean this is a given, really. Yeah, yeah, succulents are the millennial trend of the millennia. But they’re insanely easy to care for, greenify your space, and are just so dang precious.

From succulents to cacti to hey, venus fly traps, plants are a great way to bring the outdoors in and make your space feel like everything from jungle to desert.

A gallery wall that gives you windows to the great outdoors

If you can’t actually have floor to ceiling windows with a view of the mountains, jungle, or hey, even the concrete jungle, have no fear! A gallery wall can act like a wall of mini windows, each one leading into a different, outdoorsy scene. Not to mention, it looks pretty awesome.

Just because you want to bring a touch of the outdoors into your space, doesn’t mean you need to feel like you’re braving the elements. Cozy up with some creature comforts that keep up that nature vibe you’re going for by cocooning yourself in a fleece blanket. Or maybe by making yourself a cave of pillows!

Happy hibernation!
