For the last 20 years, Threadless has helped humans express their emotions, individualism, and rebellion through art and design. With all the uncertainty surrounding the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, now more than ever is the time to fill the world with art, and bring joy, entertainment, and a bit of relief to everyone. And during these uncertain times, we wanted to let the Threadless community and our customers know what we’re doing and how it may affect customer orders.
Fulfilling Your Order
As you may know, each Threadless item is custom-printed and made to order, which requires some processing time. Due to COVID-19 related delays, safety precautions, and recent demand, orders may take a bit longer to ship, some beyond the processing time. Getting your order to you as quickly as possible and the safety of our print and fulfillment teams are our top priorities. We know how important it is to receive your order in a timely manner, and we are continually monitoring and working to escalate delayed orders to ensure they are shipped out as soon as possible. We will forward a shipping notification as soon as your order is on its way to you.
We have a network of printing facilities and manufacturers across the United States and have been in close communication with logistics and planning teams at each facility. We are taking steps to minimize risks and implementing best practices as recommended by the CDC and WHO for facility cleaning, employee protections, and limiting interactions. Our goal is to ensure that Threadless and Artist Shops customers are minimally impacted by any issues related to COVID-19 while also focusing on the health and safety of our network’s workforce.
Shipping Your Order
Longer transit times may also be expected for shipments within the United States and internationally, as it is possible local government or delivery services are experiencing additional delays or interruptions with deliveries. Please allow a few extra days for US orders or an extra 1 to 2 weeks for International orders for tracking updates and deliveries to be made. Shipping services have also been temporarily suspended to some countries. You can find up to date details here regarding suspended countries. If your order is impacted by these suspensions, we will notify you with information for next steps. Additionally, your local government or carrier services should have information available if this affects you. We recommend checking local resources for any details regarding possible ship delays.
Our Headquarters & Support Team
In addition to monitoring our facilities, the Threadless Chicago headquarters has moved to working from home for our employees’ health and safety. Through remote work, our staff will continue to be available for our community, artists, and customers for any questions or support anything they need.
If you have any questions regarding your recent purchase or anything Threadless related, send us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org. While our Help team usually responds quickly, we are experiencing higher than normal volume and are working through an unusually large amount of requests. While our support team is working to catch up, please bear with us as it may take us a few days to get back to you. We will respond to every inquiry as soon as possible to ensure the best customer experience for you. We thank you for your patience and hope you stay happy and healthy.
Wearing a cloth face covering while you’re out in the world is not only good for you and your neighbors during the pandemic, it’s now officially recommended by the CDC. So we thought: how can we offer up some cool cloth masks featuring designs from amazing artists in the Threadless community, while also helping the people providing much needed healthcare around the world?
Enter our all-new face mask product offering with a portion of the net proceeds that Threadless earns for the sale of each mask being donated to MedShare. Thanks to incredible support from our artists and customers, Threadless has already donated $250K to Medshare! Since aid is still needed, we’ll continue to donate a portion of each mask sold, up to a $500K maximum donation. MedShare is a humanitarian aid non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people, communities, and our planet. They source and directly deliver surplus medical supplies and equipment to communities in need around the world. We’re really excited to be raising funds for such an important non-profit like this!
Community Action Plan
Update as of June 4th: Artist Shop owners now have the option to donate a portion of their proceeds to eight different organizations of their choosing. Threadless will match those donations up to an additional $100,000. These organizations exist to help bring racial justice and create a less hostile world for the Black community. The organizations are as follows:
- Black Lives Matter
- Black Visions Collective
- The Bail Project
- Unicorn Riot
- Reclaim The Block
- Chicago Freedom School
- Color of Change
- Campaign Zero
If you’re a shop owner looking to help raise funding for one or more of these organizations, click here for more information on how to prepare your shop. If you don’t yet have a shop but want to get involved, we can help you get started.
UPDATE as of June 1st: We’re excited to announce the extension of one component of our Community Action Plan – the ease of getting your Artist Shop online by simply emailing your logo to email@example.com. From there, our team will be in touch and will quickly get to work getting your shop set up. We’ll also collaborate closely with you to make it awesome. Have a friend who could use help with an online shop, not to mention some extra income? Spread the word because we’re here to help! We’ve learned that many independent artists, musicians, and small business owners are depending even more on additional income streams like Artist Shops. If you have a friend who should set up a shop, or know restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and other small businesses that could use a leg up, spread the word, and let them know about this initiative.
Additional Resources & Updates
We know there’s a lot to read out there about COVID-19 on all the measures we can and should do to prevent the spread of the disease. If you are looking for more support, we have a Creative Resource update where you can find additional resources for funding, self-care, how to stay connected during this difficult time, and more.
Let’s fill the world with art, and bring joy, entertainment, and relief to everyone. In this time of social distancing, we are all still connected. Safe safe and healthy.
Each and every time you purchase from Threadless, you’re directly supporting independent artists and small businesses around the world. That’s powerful! Whether you’re looking to show off your unique style or enhance your living space, the designs you choose to buy are supporting the artists that made them.
