It’s Memorial Day weekend! This year, we may not be outside grilling or hitting the beaches, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate. Times are weird, and we thought we’d lean into the thing we love most about this time of year, the delicious food. We talked to our artist community about their favorite strange food combinations that they’ve tried and totally loved.

What’s the strangest food combination you have ever tried and actually liked?
A mayonnaise, peanut butter sandwich on toasted white bread with lettuce. In high school, a friend recommended that I try this sandwich. I was quite skeptical and thought it was a prank, but humored her. Turns out she wasn’t joking, it was tasty! I think everyone should try it at least once and see for themselves ;)

What’s your favorite combination of food to snack on?
Popcorn and Nutella. Take a piece of popcorn and dunk it in Nutella. Repeat forever. Bonus if it’s kettle corn!

What’s something you consider a weird food combination?
Peanut butter and jelly. It’s an acquired taste and not for everyone!

Tell us about your favorite foods to mix together in the weirdest of wonderful ways.
It would have to be cream cheese on bacon. Nothing else. Also, I could live off of Doritos!

What’s a favorite snack?
Bosc Pear and Gorgonzola cheese is weird and absolutely delightful. I could eat french fries for dayz.

What’s something you consider goofy as it pertains to food?
Lately I’ve been really into putting rainbow sprinkles in my coffee. It doesn’t change the flavor, and the sprinkles don’t even really stay on the surface of the coffee for very long, but why do I have these sprinkles if I’m not going to use them?
A favorite snack? I love Chex Muddy Buddies – it’s Chex cereal covered in peanut butter and chocolate and sugar. I only consider it a guilty pleasure because I never see anyone else buying them, or hear anyone else talk about them. And because I always feel a little sick after eating them.

I’m a sucker for peanut butter on pretty much anything and everything, but I especially like peanut butter and graham crackers. Make a sandwich, but you HAVE to dip it in milk. I do oatmilk or almondmilk, but go nuts with the real thing if you can. SO satisfying.

Memorial Day may look a little different this year, but we hope you get to make, and eat something delicious!
