This Story Gave Us ALL The Feels

Here at Threadless, we like to make people happy, whether it be our artists getting printed or our customers rockin’ new swag.

But when we can make someone happy in a way that gives them confidence or helps them through a tough situation? It just goes to show that art can have an impact that’s more than design-deep.

We got an email from *Renee telling us that her 10-year-old daughter had been having a hard time with some bullies at school. Some kids decided it would be “fun” to destroy her favorite Threadless hoodie, and she was devastated. The design was out of print, and Renee wanted to know if we could possibly re-print one for her daughter.

Why can’t we all just live in harmony? (“Living in Harmony” by Josh Perkins)

The hoodie was unfortunately completely sold out. But while we were putting together a care package for our new favorite Threadfan, lo and behold, we found one.

A few weeks later, we got a note from Renee:

“I noticed she’d wear your gifts on the days of the week that were particularly difficult; those t-shirts worked as her coat of armor, reminding her of the kindness of others, shielding her from those picking on her. Instead of crying before school she’d put on your t-shirt and a look of determination.”

Cue collective, literal tears from all of us here in the office.

Thank you for sharing your story, Renee. We’re happy we could help your daughter in any way. Tell her to keep being a rockstar.
