Good news, everyone! While we were recovering from eating ALL the holiday food (why does that seem like forever ago?), we reflected on one of this past year’s biggest new features: Discover. And we’re kicking 2018 off by leveling this feature up to Discover 2.0! We’re so stoked that there’s a fresh way for you to find amazing new art and artists. We wanted to share a few of the innovations and changes made late last year that bumped this feature up to the next level.
The Discover deets
For those of you who haven’t tried out Discover yet, let’s get you up to speed! It’s never been easier to find new artists and be THE go-to art guru of your friends. With the Discover section, you can find new, trending, and featured designs from our Artist Shops community without leaving Threadless; it’s kind of like scrolling on tumblr (and equally addicting).
New and improved search tool
In the past, if you searched “cat” on Threadless, you would only find printed cat designs; not submissions or Discover designs. So we totally revamped our search tool. Now when you search a certain design theme, you can filter it by Discover items, design submissions, users, forums, and more. This makes searching for new designs to score or just new designs to love even easier.
“Buy now!” & combined carts
See something you dig on Discover? Hit the “Buy Now” button! Instead of having to leave Discover to purchase an item from that artist’s shop, you can buy it right then and there, saving you time and hassle. And if you’re buying multiple items, now they’ll all appear in your Threadless cart together rather than having to buy them individually. This saves you money on shipping (and from having a million tabs open at once).
Discover’s top level navigation
Discover may be pretty new, but we’ve already started making changes to it to make it even easier and more fun to use, starting with adding men’s, women’s, kids, home, and accessories categories to the top of the Discover section so you can refine your search to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Collections
Another item you’ll notice in that Discover top nav is the “Collections” section. This filters Discover items into six different categories. Indulge the animal-love, pop culture guru, foodie, geek, hiker, and gamer in you – shop by theme!
