Exploring the Vibrant Art of Soho House Chicago: The Latest Graffiti on Green Murals

Located in Chicago’s Fulton Market District, Soho House Chicago has become a beacon for artistic expression through its Graffiti on Green mural series. Curated by Threadless’s own Lance Curran for over a decade, these monthly murals transform the building’s exterior into a dynamic canvas that celebrates the diverse talents of artists from around the city and beyond. Having previously featured the Soho House murals back in 2017, we’re excited to revisit this vibrant project and showcase the 10 most recent murals that have captivated the neighborhood, each one a testament to the unique vision of its creator.


An Abstract Explosion From Joe Suta (January 2024)

An emblem of Chicago’s street art scene, Joe Suta, also known as Choke, brought a dynamic energy to Graffiti on Green with his mural featuring a jagged geometric pattern, alive with bold, bright colors. An old friend of Threadless who has painted murals for our past offices, Joe continues to influence the city’s aesthetics with his own mural-related company in Chicago.


Nighttime Scenes From Annisa Zak (December 2023)

For their Graffiti on Green mural, abstract artist Annisa Zak invited onlookers into a contemplative exploration of night landscapes and the metaphorical journey of finding one’s way through darkness. Engaging with themes of fluidity, chaos, and the critique of overworking culture, their art encourages viewers to reclaim a moment of self-awareness and mindfulness.


Mountain Views From Lucho Romero (November 2023)

Chicago–based illustrator and Threadless team member Lucho Romero painted a cheerful landscape where clouds and mountains wear expressions of joy. Radiating a sense of whimsy and happiness, his mural perfectly captured his distinctive style of bright, cute illustrations filled with witty humor.

Sad Girls and Snails From Isamar Medina (September 2023)

Isamar Medina, a Mexican-American artist hailing from Chicago’s South Side, brought her unique perspective to Graffiti on Green. With an aesthetic she describes as “sad girls in sexy limbo,” her art boldly challenges the hypocritical social taboos surrounding women, subverting traditional notions of femininity and control with each stroke.

A Well-Balanced Breakfast From Studio Nez (July 2023)

Illustrator, painter, and muralist Vanessa Garza, aka Nez, is most recently known for her sweet and adorable cereal box characters, as seen in her Graffiti on Green piece. With murals across Chicago, her infectiously cheerful art style celebrates the innocence and creativity of the inner child, brightening the cityscape with vibrant colors and heartfelt messages.

Watchful Eyes From Delicious Design League (May 2023)

Led by Billy Baumann and Jason Teegarden-Downs, Delicious Design League evolved from a poster-printing hobby to a full-fledged boutique design studio and beacon of creativity in Chicago. Their contribution to Graffiti on Green showcased their keen eye for innovation and design, both literally and figuratively.

Photo Ops From Zissou Tasseff-Elenkoff (April 2023)

For Graffiti on Green, Zissou Tasseff-Elenkoff transformed the corners of Soho House Chicago with a fun depiction of an old-school photo booth. This creative endeavor by the owner of All Star Press and Fugscreens not only showcased an appreciation for vintage aesthetics, but also served as a visual invitation for passersby to engage with the artwork as if stepping into a moment captured in time.

Chicago–based contemporary artist Jenny Vyas makes art that delves into the complexities of human emotions and the human condition. Her murals, often interactive, not only beautify Chicago’s streets but also serve as a canvas for collective storytelling and personal reflection, making her work a vital part of the city’s cultural fabric.


Heart Butts From Anna Lisa (February 2023)

Chicago–based illustrator and Threadless team member Anna Lisa enjoys drawing things that make folks chuckle and feel understood. Her Graffiti on Green mural stood as a vibrant celebration of body positivity, featuring an array of butts shaped like hearts to represent a diverse spectrum of body types and genders. This playful yet poignant piece not only injects humor into the conversation about body image, but also champions the booty of inclusivity. Correction—the BEAUTY of inclusivity.

For Graffiti on Green, British–born, Chicago–based painter and muralist Anna Murphy wove a captivating tapestry of nature rendered in a delicate palette of blue, porcelain white, and gold. Recognized for her detailed and spiritual approach, her art is a visual celebration of the natural world’s serene beauty and our connection to Earth.
