Try Your Hand At Peanuts!

Good grief, do we have exciting news for you guys! We’ve officially launched our brand new Peanuts design challenge, and it’s truly unlike any other challenge we’ve done before. For the first time ever, artists are invited to put their own spin on Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patty, and the whole gang!

When we say for the first time ever, we’re not kidding. For 50 years, Charles “Sparky” Schulz was the sole creator of the Peanuts comic strip. He wrote it, drew it, inked it, and lettered it. The last original strip appeared the day after Schulz’s passing in 2000. Never before has any other artist outside of the Peanuts family been allowed to try their hand at these iconic characters… until now!

Because this design challenge is extra special, it will run for at least three months, with a new winner announced each month. We’ve even upped the prize ante: each winner will receive a grand prize of $5,000! We encourage everyone to participate, and to remember that this challenge is all about reimagining Peanuts in a totally new way. Have fun, push the envelope, and be sure your submission is unlike anything we’ve seen before!

Speaking of totally new Peanuts designs, you may have noticed some familiar faces on our homepage today!

To get the inspiration ball rolling, we asked a few of our artist alumni to come up with their own fresh takes on Peanuts and launched their designs to help kick off the challenge. Now, not only do you get to think up all sorts of rad new designs, you can buy them as well!

We also chatted with Paige Braddock, Executive Vice President and Creative Director of Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, who gave us a behind-the scenes look at creating Peanuts. Check it out for even more design inspiration!
