Top Sellers (That Aren’t Tees)
  1. Stickers: They’re fun to stick everywhere—laptops, notebooks, telephone poles, bathroom stalls. Please stick responsibly!
  2. Pullover Hoodies: There’s a reason people never give them back after breakups. They’re an absolute wardrobe essential.
  3. Sweatshirts: They’re cozy, great for layering, and you can dress them up or down. Versatility is your friend.

Charitable Impact

Causes

Threadless Causes is our community’s way of harnessing our creative powers to spread good throughout the world. How does it work? Threadless artists donate a percentage of their earnings from any designs they select in their Artist Shop to a Cause and charity of their choice. When you buy those designs, Threadless matches the donation and automatically sends it to the charity. The Causes you can support range from Racial Injustice to Humanitarian Aid.

Causes Stats

Since Causes began in 2020, our community has collectively donated more than $685,000 to nonprofit organizations helping people in need, animals, and the environment. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who’s joined our community’s fundraising efforts, from participating artists to anyone who’s ever purchased a Causes design. Your generosity amazes us!

Design Challenges

In 2022, artists from around the globe put their skills to the test in 17 different Design Challenges including Cottagecore, Grow STEM presented by Intel, and the officially licensed Care Bears challenge. These themed challenges are a fun way for artists to step out of their comfort zone and expose their art to the greater Threadless Community.

Plus, you can help us select the winners and elevate your favorite artists by scoring submissions. It’s a Threadless tradition that’s lasted over 20 years! Here are some eye-catching Design Challenge stats from 2022.

Thank you to everyone who submitted and scored designs, and congrats to all the winners! Now let’s take a look at the Design Challenges that engaged our community the most

Challenges with the Most Participation

Kawaii Design Challenge
Presented by our friends at Hot Topic, this challenge called for artists to channel the spirit of kawaii, a culture of cuteness that originated in Japan. Submissions featured tons of adorable characters we just want to hug and squish.
Halloween Design Challenge
With so many fans of horror and spooky stuff in our community, Halloween is more like a year-round celebration. Artists submitted more than 1,500 creepy, crawly designs to this challenge.
Flower Power
For this floral-themed challenge, artists gave us vibrant bouquets of patterns, sprawling landscapes, and clever typography.

Threadless in Retail Stores

Have you ever walked into Hot Topic or Target and noticed a t-shirt you’ve seen at Threadless? That’s no coincidence. Our team works with several third-party retail partners to open up retail and licensing opportunities for Threadless artists, helping them to earn more with their art. In 2022, Threadless designs have been featured in online catalogs and brick-and-mortar stores by the following retail brands:

Artists Speak

One of the coolest parts of our jobs at Threadless is being able to interact with so many amazing artists and people who inspire us. We love picking their brains, learning about their creative processes, listening to their life stories, and hearing their constructive criticisms. Here are just a few of the ways we connected with artists in 2022.
